Supreme Court Just Gave Trump a Gift!

In a major development that’s already rattling Washington’s permanent bureaucracy, the U.S. Supreme Court delivered a significant victory to President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), temporarily granting it sweeping access to sensitive data from the Social Security Administration (SSA). The move sets the stage for one of the most consequential shakeups in federal record access in decades.

With a 6-3 ruling, the conservative-majority Court gave the green light for DOGE, a Trump-era agency once led by Elon Musk, to obtain Social Security numbers, medical records, mental health data, and even sealed family court files. The decision overrides multiple lower court restrictions that previously blocked DOGE’s access to this highly sensitive information.

The order, which came unsigned, sends the case back to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, for a deeper ruling on the merits. But for now, DOGE can move forward with what critics call a “digital dragnet” of unprecedented scale.
