Senate Rejects Anti-Trump Measure Again!

For the fourth straight time, Senate Democrats came up short in their effort to rein in President Donald Trump’s authority to continue military operations involving Iran. In another major showdown on Capitol Hill, lawmakers voted 52-47 to reject a resolution that would have forced the White House to seek congressional approval before extending U.S. involvement in the conflict.

The vote fell largely along party lines, underscoring the deep divide in Washington over national security, presidential authority, and America’s role overseas.

Democrats framed the measure as a constitutional safeguard, arguing Congress must have a stronger say before military action continues. Had it passed, the resolution would have restricted the president’s ability to move forward without lawmakers signing off first.

But Republicans largely stood behind President Trump, signaling continued confidence in his leadership as tensions in the region remain high.

Despite another defeat, Democrats made clear they are not backing down. Party leaders said they plan to keep bringing similar measures to the Senate floor every week in an effort to force senators to publicly declare where they stand on the war.
