“Effective immediately we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers,” Rubio announced on X. “The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers.”
This wasn’t a symbolic gesture. Rubio’s order freezes every single visa program for foreign commercial drivers. No loopholes. No exceptions. Every nationality is covered, and the halt will remain in place until a full safety review is completed.
