For years, American truckers have been pushed aside while foreign drivers took over the roads. The issue has been ignored, accidents have piled up, and families have been left shattered. But Senator Marco Rubio just stepped up with the kind of decisive action that should have been taken long ago.
The turning point came on August 12. That’s when 28-year-old Harjinder Singh, an illegal alien, pulled an 18-wheeler into a restricted “Official Use Only” U-turn lane on Florida’s Turnpike. In doing so, he managed to block the entire highway.
A family in a minivan didn’t have time to react. Their vehicle smashed into the truck, killing three innocent Americans instantly. This was no random tragedy. It was a disaster waiting to happen.
When investigators questioned Singh after the wreck, they quickly discovered something shocking. He could only answer two out of 12 English-language questions correctly. Even worse, he recognized only one of four basic traffic signs.
