Residents Say Obama’s Project DESTROYED Their City

The much-hyped Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is facing some serious backlash — not just because it’s behind schedule and blowing past its massive budget, but because many locals say the towering structure is destroying the character of their neighborhood.

Instead of celebrating what Democrats once promised would be a landmark of pride, residents are calling it a “monstrosity” that has taken over what used to be a peaceful, family-friendly public park. What was once green space full of trees and flowers is now overshadowed by a colossal concrete block that some say resembles something out of a dystopian film.

For years, activists tried to stop the project from being built in Jackson Park, a historic location on Chicago’s South Side. They argued the community didn’t need an $850 million political monument. Those warnings were ignored, and now even people who didn’t oppose the project are voicing regret over what’s being built in their backyard.
