This past week, former president Donald Trump received both a caution and an intriguing offer.
The “merchant of death,” according to the Newsweek article, has advised Donald Trump to apply for refuge in Russia. He asserted that if the former president stays in the US, his life is in risk.
A recent Russian TV interview with renowned arms dealer Viktor Bout, who served as the basis for the movie “Lord of War,” stunned many. He revealed that he had secretly warned President Trump of an impending threat to his life. Bout opined that Russia would be the president’s safest location. The scope of global espionage and the possible dangers to world leaders have been called into question in light of this discovery.

A recent article by renowned journalist Bout discussed the awful threat to the former president Trump’s safety. Interestingly, neither a shadowy organization nor a mystery assassin are to blame for the impending peril. In reality, the danger comes from Trump’s own administration as the Manhattan district attorney pursues claims that Trump allegedly fabricated financial documents to conceal payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels as hush money. According to Newsweek, the issue is critical and has to be addressed right now in order to uphold everyone’s safety and serve justice.
“Trump was arraigned this week on 34 counts related to that charge. He has denied all wrongdoing in the case, as well as an affair that Daniels claims they had,” the report said.
Bout stated to the news outlet Russia-24: “The legal process which has now begun in New York won’t just end in Donald Trump being convicted and barred from the [2024] election.
“Most likely, he will simply be eliminated there,” he continued. “Therefore, I think it’s in the best interests of all of humanity and primarily all of the American people to invite Donald Trump here, to Russia, to give him security and protection here so that he leads this uprising against the globalists and, most importantly, does not allow the elimination of the American people.”
In December of last year, the Biden administration made headlines by arranging the swap of Bout, a prisoner with a criminal record for trading in weapons. The unanticipated turn? The WNBA star Brittney Griner, who was incarcerated in a Russian jail after being convicted on drug-related crimes, was the object of the exchange. This high-profile trade attracted interest and generated debates on the subject of how justice, politics, and athletics mix.
“The one-for-one exchange agreement negotiated with Moscow in recent weeks was given final approval by President Biden within just the last week, according to sources familiar with the deal. The swap, first reported by CBS News, took place on Thursday in the United Arab Emirates,” the outlet continued.
“A White House official said President Biden was in the Oval Office Thursday morning on the phone, speaking with Griner, and her wife Cherelle Griner and Vice President Kamala Harris were also in the room. Per standard procedure for freed U.S. prisoners, Griner was expected to quickly undergo a medical evaluation,” the outlet continued.
Biden stated in a post from his official Twitter account: “She is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home.”
In August, rumors began to circulate about a possible arrangement to swap Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan, two American detainees incarcerated in Russia, for renowned arms dealer Viktor Bout, often known as the “Merchant of Death,” who has been detained in the US since 2010. Russian authorities are purportedly connected to these conversations through sources.
A well-known former DEA agent’s warning that the planned arrangement would be risky for not only the United States but also the whole Western world rang out loud and clear.
In an opinion piece for USA Today, Rob “Zach” Zachariasiewicz cautioned readers against swapping Bout for Griner.
“Bout…provided the fuel for conflicts across the globe. He was a critical player in the global illicit arms trade not because he could obtain weapons but because he could deliver his destructive cargo anywhere in the world through his control of a private fleet of military aircraft. And he did just that,” wrote the former DEA agent.
“A tremendous amount of resources and political capital were spent on the critical national security investigation into Bout’s actions. Lives were placed at risk, and tireless efforts were made. Now many voices are not being adequately considered in these deliberations over whether to free Bout in exchange for an American. Those voices include an entire generation of maimed and orphaned inhabitants of war-torn countries throughout the world, especially in Africa,” he added.
“In a recorded undercover meeting, he declared to persons he believed to be terrorist facilitators that the United States was his sworn enemy. He offered them, as part of an extensive arsenal of heavy weapons, hundreds of surface-to-air missiles to be used against U.S. military advisers and the Colombian military,” Zachariasiewicz noted further.
“Negotiating for Bout’s release is a feckless and shortsighted foreign policy. Such actions merely encourage our adversaries to engage in the kidnapping, illegal detention, and ransoming of American citizens throughout the world,” he added.
