Hillary Clinton just got a brutal reality check from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after she took a cheap shot at him over the administration’s approach to Russia. And let’s just say—it did not go well for her.
On Sunday, Clinton mocked Hegseth on X by sharing a headline from Gizmodo that read, “Trump’s Defense Secretary Hegseth Orders Cyber Command to ‘Stand Down’ on All Russia Operations.” Of course, Clinton wasted no time in using it to smear Hegseth, suggesting he’s bending the knee to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Wouldn’t want to hurt Putin’s feelings,” Clinton quipped, clearly trying to stir the pot. But Hegseth had receipts—and he didn’t hold back.
In a perfect response, Hegseth fired back with a now-infamous photo of Clinton herself, grinning ear-to-ear as she presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov with a so-called “reset” button back in 2009. The kicker? Clinton and the Obama administration fumbled the translation, accidentally labeling the button “overcharge” instead of “reset.” Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe it.
