Oregon’s Democrat Governor Tina Kotek has taken a page right out of the far-left playbook — blaming federal agents for the growing chaos in Portland instead of addressing the out-of-control radicals who have been wreaking havoc on the city for years.
In an interview this week, Kotek accused federal officers of “escalating the situation” and “antagonizing protesters” outside a federal facility in Portland. Her comments sparked outrage from conservatives who say she’s once again siding with anarchists over law enforcement.
This is nothing new for Oregon’s leadership. Portland has been a hotbed of violent demonstrations and anti-police riots since 2016, with businesses destroyed, federal buildings torched, and neighborhoods terrorized. The city has become a national symbol of failed Democrat policies — where criminals run free and politicians point fingers anywhere but at themselves.
Kotek’s latest defense of far-left protesters, however, takes the denial to a whole new level. She’s essentially asking Americans to ignore what they’ve seen for nearly a decade: masked radicals smashing windows, lighting fires, and assaulting police officers.
