President Donald Trump is making good on a central campaign promise—putting America’s energy future back into the hands of American producers. In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the green energy lobby, Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), led by Administrator Lee Zeldin, has unveiled the most ambitious Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) targets in U.S. history for the years 2026 and 2027.

The new “Set 2” proposal dramatically raises the volume requirements for biofuel production. It’s a strategic return to Congress’ original vision—supporting American-grown fuels and breaking the country’s dependence on foreign energy. The contrast with the Biden administration’s policies couldn’t be clearer.
“Our farmers and biofuel producers are prepared to continue supplying consumers with homegrown, low-cost renewable fuels,” said Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.
While the left pushes for electric vehicles and energy imports from overseas, Trump’s plan energizes the heartland by leaning on American agriculture and boosting rural economies.
