One Energy Call – and Trump Shatters the Green Illusion

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“The RVO proposal sends a strong signal to the market that biofuels play an important role in ensuring American energy dominance,” Reynolds added.

Trump Rebuilds What Biden Ignored

Farmers and lawmakers from biofuel-producing states are hailing the move as a long-overdue course correction. Biden’s green energy agenda, critics say, left rural communities in the dust—and many are still recovering from plant closures and policy whiplash.

“After Biden blatantly ignored the needs of farmers and biofuel producers, I applaud the Trump administration for getting the RFS back on track with today’s announcement,” said Senator Joni Ernst.

“Under the Biden administration, five biodiesel plants in Iowa closed or idled in part because RVOs were set too low,” added Senator Chuck Grassley.

Trump’s announcement is being described as a lifeline for these communities—and a rejection of Biden’s electric vehicle mandates, which rural leaders say were out of touch with America’s transportation and energy realities.

Trump Survivor Coin

“Today, President Trump and Administrator Zeldin turned the ship around, delivering a victory for American energy security,” Grassley continued.

Prioritizing American Energy Over Chinese Imports

Trump’s EPA isn’t just raising targets—it’s also tightening controls on foreign fuels and questionable imports that flooded the market under the previous administration.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig praised the administration’s “effort to prioritize and incentivize American sourced biofuels and ingredients over foreign fuels and feedstocks, including used cooking oil from China.”

“This decision will drive investment in our rural communities, support our farmers, create jobs and strengthen U.S. energy independence,” said Rep. Randy Feenstra.

Industry leaders echoed the praise. The National Oilseed Processors Association applauded the administration for taking steps to protect domestic soybean oil from being undercut by imported alternatives.

Relief at the Pump—and a Boost to the Economy

Beyond its impact on producers, Trump’s fuel plan promises savings for everyday Americans struggling with high energy costs.

“America’s families who choose to use biofuels could see much-needed relief at the gas pump, with savings of 10 to 30 cents per gallon,” according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.

“Renewable fuels deliver cleaner and more affordable fuel at the pump,” said Senator Roger Marshall, highlighting the dual benefit for consumers and rural businesses.

“Higher RVOs will help more consumers across the country enjoy access to the clean, affordable fuels we’re producing right here in the Midwest,” added Rep. Mike Flood.

Rural America Is Roaring Back

From job creation to economic growth, the ripple effects of this decision are already being felt across the heartland.

The Clean Fuels Alliance America reports that the U.S. biomass-based diesel sector supports over 107,000 jobs and contributes $42.4 billion to the economy.

“These volumes likely mean something even more immediate — getting our idled biodiesel plants back up and running,” said Iowa Biodiesel Board’s Grant Kimberley.

“The proposal will unlock investments, create jobs, and support growth in rural America,” said Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor.

The Advanced Biofuels Association called the RVO boost a vital step toward diversifying the fuel supply and reviving communities left behind by Biden’s one-size-fits-all green agenda.

Environmental Activists Rage as EV Mandate Dies

If the administration’s move thrilled rural America, it sent environmental groups into a frenzy. Trump’s EPA effectively torpedoed Biden’s controversial attempt to force electric vehicle mandates into the RFS system—a move widely seen as government overreach.

Mike Naig hailed the “elimination of the misguided attempt to force Biden’s electric vehicle mandate (eRINs) into the RFS.”

Rather than caving to radical environmental demands, Trump is proving that energy independence and economic growth can go hand-in-hand—with American-made fuels leading the way.

A Clear Message: Trump Delivers

For Trump supporters and farmers alike, this is yet another case of Trump doing exactly what he said he’d do.

“Thanks to President Trump for not only removing the disastrous Biden EV mandates but also supporting our hard-working farmers and ranchers. Once again, Promises Made, Promises Kept,” said Senator Roger Marshall.

The Renewable Fuels Association declared it “an important step toward achieving President Trump’s vision of lower gas prices, a stronger agriculture industry, and American energy dominance.”

“Energy security is national security, and today’s announcement is a win for our biofuels producers and Ag community in Iowa,” said Rep. Ashley Hinson.

Trump’s energy decision marks a bold pivot back to commonsense policy—and a powerful statement that American energy should be made in America, for America.
