A confrontation at an Indiantown, Florida, school bus stop has ignited a heated community debate after a father displayed a concealed firearm when two teenagers approached him following an earlier dispute involving his teenage son.
The incident has drawn attention from local community activists and the NAACP, while Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek has publicly defended the investigation and said his department determined that the father did not violate the law during the confrontation.
According to WPBF, the controversy began on Thursday, September 17, when the father’s 16-year-old son was riding a Martin County school bus toward South Fork High School. The teenager had brought a pizza onto the bus when a 14-year-old student allegedly demanded some of it.
Sheriff Budensiek said the younger teenager threatened the 16-year-old and eventually struck him in the head after he refused to give him pizza. The older student then went home and told his father what had happened.
