Former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz, a 20-year intelligence veteran, isn’t holding back either. He told The Washington Times the fallout has permanently stained the intelligence world’s credibility.
“The whole thing really undermined the reputation of U.S. intelligence, not just CIA,” Fleitz said.
“It made it look like it’s a big political game. There’s always some politics, but it was never as bad as it was until Trump became president,” he continued.
Fleitz didn’t stop there. He blasted the former leadership of the CIA, pointing directly at Brennan and then-Rep. Adam Schiff, accusing them of blowing past ethical guardrails for political gain.
“There always [were] some guardrails that people wouldn’t cross, but they were all broken when Trump became president, and I still don’t think it’s recovered,” Fleitz said.
According to Gabbard, insiders are now speaking up. Since the release of the documents, whistleblowers from inside the intelligence agencies have begun stepping forward, revealing more about the political manipulation they witnessed firsthand.
“We have whistleblowers … coming forward now, after we released these documents because there are people who were around, who were working within the intelligence community who are so disgusted by what happened,” Gabbard told Fox News.
“We’re starting to see some of them come out of the woodwork here because they, too, like you and I and the American people, want to see justice delivered.”
Fleitz added fuel to the fire, saying the resentment toward Brennan runs deep inside Langley.
“I think he was a political hack who did a lot of damage to the agency, not just with this Intelligence Community Assessment [ICA], and with his promotion of the Steele dossier, [named after British MI6 officer Christopher Steele], but with years of political commentary on MSNBC attacking Trump,” he said.
“As a former CIA officer, that’s just not done. It’s not dignified, and it really angered Trump, and it made Trump distrust American intelligence even more.”
In a stunning move last week, Gabbard officially sent a criminal referral to the DOJ, accusing the Obama national security team of manipulating intelligence to create the Trump-Russia collusion narrative out of thin air. The move puts enormous legal pressure on Obama’s top brass—and possibly Obama himself.
And the echoes of this scandal may just be beginning.
On Saturday, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino lit up X (formerly Twitter) with a cryptic but chilling message. Though he didn’t name names, the implications were crystal clear:
“The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations,” Bongino wrote.
“It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned.”
If these accusations are proven true, this could mark one of the most disturbing abuses of intelligence power in modern American history. A political elite allegedly using the tools of national security to sabotage a sitting president? That’s not just a scandal—it’s an indictment of the entire system.
One thing’s for sure: this story is far from over. And now that insiders are starting to talk, the dam may be about to break.
