He shifted the blame for the entire uprising onto President Trump, claiming that the chaos in LA is somehow the result of Trump’s “militarized immigration policy”—completely ignoring that it’s his own sanctuary state policies that have turned California into a magnet for illegal immigration and criminal activity.
At no point did the Governor express sympathy for the officers injured in the riots or the business owners whose livelihoods were destroyed. Instead, he painted the rioters as victims and the federal government as the aggressor.
Even LAPD officials, known for their soft-on-crime approach, parroted the same weak narrative—that these were “mostly peaceful” demonstrations. But the truth was visible on every live stream: burning police cruisers, injured officers, looted stores, and total anarchy.
