On Saturday, Trump authorized the deployment of at least 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order in Los Angeles after days of lawless unrest linked to ICE raids on employers. The riots, which escalated to assaults on police, including protestors reportedly spitting on officers, triggered widespread condemnation—and a sharp response from the president.
