Newly released surveillance footage in the case of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie may hold a critical clue that has been overlooked — right on the suspect’s wrist.
Jim Clemente, a former FBI supervisory special agent and criminal profiler, told Fox News Digital that a marking on the masked individual’s wrist could be the key to cracking the investigation. “That tattoo, if it is a tattoo, will be able to help them rule in and rule out people. Certainly it will help the public,” he explained.
The FBI has shared images showing an armed figure wearing gloves, a face covering, and a backpack approaching Guthrie’s Tucson home in the early hours of Feb. 1. In the footage, the suspect appears to tamper with the doorbell camera just before it stops recording.
Clemente said even small details on the wrist — partial ink patterns, symbols, or letters — could drastically narrow down potential suspects once tips start flowing in. “Even partial markings can quickly eliminate large numbers of potential suspects,” he noted.
