In a significant ruling, Nevada Judge Mary Kay Holthus has dismissed a controversial case involving so-called “fake electors” linked to former President Donald Trump. This decision, delivered in a Clark County courtroom, was based on the argument that the county was not the proper location for the trial.
During a hearing last Friday, Judge Holthus was not persuaded by the arguments presented by state prosecutors that Clark County should serve as the venue for the case. Instead, defense attorneys argued that either Carson City, where the questionable signing ceremony occurred, or Douglas County, the original mailing point of the disputed elector documents, would be more suitable. This stance was bolstered by the fact that Clark County’s voter registration heavily favors Democrats over Republicans, suggesting a possible bias in jury selection.
