Still, Greene contends that Chauvin’s punishment was more about politics than justice.
“I strongly support Derek Chauvin being pardoned and released from prison. George Floyd died of a drug overdose,” Greene posted on X.
That remark set off Omar, who shot back with condemnation, claiming Chauvin’s actions were deliberate and racially charged.
“Absolutely vile. Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd in a modern day lynching— it was chilling and intentional,” Omar wrote. “Also hate to break it to you, Marjorie, but regardless of any potential pardon, Chauvin will remain in jail for his state conviction. He will forever be a convicted murderer in the eyes of the law and the world.”
But Greene wasn’t done—and what came next left no room for ambiguity.
“Busy day fighting Democrats. First Mike Lawler who is trying to destroy Trump’s agenda and now illegal alien Ilhan Omar of Somalia. Ilhan, you know what’s vile? Having sex with and marrying your brother!!!”
That jaw-dropping accusation sparked outrage across social media, but Greene doubled down, citing long-circulated rumors in Minnesota’s Somali-American community about Omar’s alleged immigration fraud involving her brother. Omar has repeatedly denied those claims, calling them right-wing smears and even describing them as “pornographic fantasy.”
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), another far-left Democrat, rushed to Omar’s defense, pivoting back to the Floyd case.
“You can lie to yourself all day, but the rest of us remember exactly what happened,” Crockett wrote.
Greene responded with documents she says support her claim about Floyd’s death being linked to drugs, posting his toxicology report that showed the presence of fentanyl and norfentanyl.
“George Floyd died from a drug overdose. He was one of the hundreds of thousands of Americans killed by fentanyl that is trafficked across our border by cartels. Jasmine Crockett doesn’t care about Americans killed by drugs like George Floyd, she cares about protecting cartels from being deported,” Greene told her followers.
As of now, there’s been no official confirmation from Trump or his team regarding a possible pardon for Chauvin. Some political watchers suggest the story may be a manufactured distraction, designed to stir controversy and tarnish Trump’s comeback momentum.
Regardless, the political fallout is already in motion. Greene has once again proved she’s not afraid to take a blowtorch to the status quo, especially when it comes to defending Trump and challenging the far left’s dominant narrative. With fiery rhetoric and a loyal MAGA base behind her, MTG isn’t backing down anytime soon.
And if the Democrats thought the Chauvin story was settled history, Greene just reopened the case in the court of public opinion.
