Inciarte, a three time Gold Glove winner and 2017 MLB All Star, took to X after returning from a Disney cruise with his family. While he praised parts of the experience, he made it clear there was one issue he could not ignore.
“Hey @DisneyCruise.. love your cruises! Except for the part that there are man dressed as woman,” Inciarte wrote. “Thought you already got over it.”
That single post quickly spread across social media, drawing both praise and backlash.
Inciarte Refuses to Back Down From Critics
Predictably, left wing activists rushed to accuse the former MLB player of hate and intolerance. Inciarte responded by calmly explaining his position and standing firm on his values.
“It wasn’t hatred or a personal attack. It was an opinion based on my convictions,” Inciarte responded. “I believe in respecting everyone, but also in calling things by their name without mockery or contempt. Living in peace doesn’t mean silencing one’s conscience.”
That response resonated with many parents who say they feel pressured to stay silent while corporations inject gender ideology into spaces designed for children.
Why Parents Say This Is About Protecting Kids
Inciarte later elaborated on why the issue matters so deeply to him as a father. He said families paying premium prices for Disney vacations should not be forced into uncomfortable or confusing situations involving their children.
“All i am saying is having my kid enter a place where a 6ft tall guy is dressed as a woman and acting like one would traumatize my kid on a family cruise,” Inciarte explained to another X user. “I don’t think it’s hate i just don’t want to normalize that behavior.”
Many parents echoed his concern, arguing that Disney cruises are marketed as family friendly and should reflect boundaries that parents expect.
Support Pours In From Parents and Advocates
Inciarte received public support from Payton McNabb, an advocate who has spoken out against biological males competing in women’s sports after suffering serious injuries during a volleyball match involving a transgender athlete.
Supporters praised Inciarte for voicing what many parents privately feel but fear saying out loud.
The former MLB outfielder played nine seasons in the majors and earned league wide respect for both his defensive excellence and professionalism. During his All Star season in 2017, he hit .304 and collected 201 hits for the Braves.
Disney’s Long March Toward Activism
Critics argue that the cruise controversy is only the latest example of Disney pushing ideological messaging on families.
Under former CEO Bob Chapek, Disney openly opposed Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act in 2022, which restricted classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation for young children.
That move sparked a political firestorm and permanently damaged Disney’s reputation with conservatives.
Polling later showed Disney’s favorability among Republican voters dropped sharply from 75 percent to 61 percent.
Woke Entertainment Comes With a Financial Cost
Disney’s embrace of activist storytelling has also come with massive financial losses.
The 2022 animated film Lightyear lost more than $100 million after including homosexual themes that many families rejected.
Strange World performed even worse, reportedly costing Disney over $150 million.
Marvel Studios also suffered its worst box office year in 2024, with The Marvels failing to meet expectations despite being part of what was once Hollywood’s most reliable franchise.
Disney Quietly Walks Things Back
After years of backlash, Disney has started retreating from some of its most aggressive messaging.
The company recently removed a transgender storyline from an upcoming Pixar series.
“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline,” a Disney spokesperson told NBC News.
Current CEO Bob Iger has also acknowledged the damage, stating earlier this year that he wants to “quiet things down.”
But for parents like Ender Inciarte, the trust has already been broken.
Families paying top dollar for Disney vacations expect the kind of family centered experience Walt Disney once promised. Instead, many feel they are being subjected to ideological messaging they never agreed to.
Inciarte’s comments struck a nerve because they reflect what millions of parents are thinking.
And judging by the reaction, Disney still has a long way to go before families believe the magic is truly back.
