A packed courtroom watched the first major day of testimony in the preliminary hearing for 23-year-old Tyler Robinson, the man accused of carrying out the fatal attack during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in September 2025.
The proceedings drew intense attention from both supporters and family members of Kirk, many of whom were present for portions of the hearing before graphic evidence was introduced.
Robinson entered the courtroom under heavy security. Dressed in a gray suit with a pink shirt and black tie, he remained restrained with hand and ankle cuffs throughout the proceedings. Observers noted that he displayed little visible emotion as prosecutors began presenting evidence connected to the case.
