Michael Cohen, the controversial former attorney for ex-President Donald Trump, has announced his intentions to pursue a new chapter in his career by running for Congress in 2026. Cohen, who gained notoriety as the principal witness in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s contentious “hush money” trial involving Trump, is setting his sights on New York’s 12th Congressional District, currently represented by veteran Democrat Jerry Nadler.
In a candid discussion with New York Magazine, Cohen expressed his determination to challenge Nadler, acknowledging the latter’s long service but suggesting it was time for a change. “We thank him for his service, but it’s enough already,” Cohen stated.
