Luigi Mangione has pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, formally admitting in court to conduct prosecutors say culminated in the executive’s fatal shooting on a Manhattan street.
Mangione appeared Friday before U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett in New York and entered guilty pleas to federal stalking counts connected to Thompson’s December 4, 2024, death.
During the hearing, Mangione personally described how he traveled to New York and gathered information about a UnitedHealthcare event before the attack.
