A woman accused of targeting one of America’s most revered war memorials is now in federal custody and could face years behind bars.
Melissa L. Farris has been arrested in connection with the vandalism of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced Friday.
Federal prosecutors have hit Farris with two felony charges: Depredation Against Property of the United States and Destruction of Veterans’ Memorials.
