Newly declassified records are fueling explosive questions about how the FBI handled damaging intelligence involving Joe Biden’s family in the years leading up to the 2020 presidential election.
According to the records, as many as 14 confidential human sources supplied federal authorities with derogatory information connected to the Biden family. Rather than allowing every allegation to move through ordinary investigative channels, the bureau allegedly subjected portions of the reporting to a special foreign-influence review that treated the material as potentially tied to Russian disinformation.
The revelations center on an FBI effort known as “Round River,” which reportedly began in late 2019 as Washington was consumed by President Donald Trump’s first impeachment battle.
