According to court documents from Garfield County, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) obtained a temporary protection order against her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, on charges that he took and destroyed items from her Silt home.
Boebert and her ex-husband recently took legal action to further their ongoing feud. They divorced in October after eighteen years of marriage, four kids, and one grandchild.

The congressman, 37, details two instances from January in his request for a temporary restraining order, which have now put 43-year-old Jayson in legal hot water. Allegations against him include assault, harassment, and obstructing a law enforcement official.
Boebert requests a restraining order for herself, her four kids—three of whom are minors—and herself. She is acting quickly because she is afraid of being followed and hurt physically.
According to The Denver Post:
She claimed in the filing that on Friday morning, Jayson Boebert broke into her Silt home without her permission, took her personal belongings, and texted her to tell her that he had destroyed them.
In the filing, Lauren Boebert stated that he had “made multiple suicidal threats and threats to harm me over the past 14 months.”
Later that day, a judge granted Lauren Boebert and her three minor children a temporary restraining order. On Thursday, Jayson Boebert is scheduled to appear in court regarding the restraining order.
Lauren Boebert’s representative refrained from commenting on the protection order on Monday. A request for comment from Jayson Boebert was not answered.
On January 6, Jayson and Lauren got into a heated fight at the Silt restaurant. As things got worse, Jayson accused Lauren of assaulting him and called the police. Lauren would not leave the property, even after being told to do so by the police.

Jayson allegedly stated after calling the police that he wanted to intentionally damage Lauren’s reputation through bad press. On January 9th, things took a bad turn when their 18-year-old son and an inebriated Jayson got into a physical altercation. When their son reported that Jayson had taken a rifle to the sheriff’s department over the phone, things got even worse.
Representative Boebert of the 3rd Congressional District was re-elected in 2022 with a narrow victory. She recently moved to Windsor, which is located within the 4th Congressional District, and announced her candidacy for the upcoming election in that district toward the end of December, citing her desire for “a fresh start following a difficult year for me and my family” as her driving force.
Boebert made headlines in September when he started a brawl during a Denver “Beetlejuice” show. Surveillance footage showed her and a male accomplice interfering with the performance by singing, vaping, and making noise.
After the video went viral, Boebert eventually issued an apology, although at first he denied any wrongdoing. Her admission of vaping on the show defied her earlier defense that she was an overly excited viewer.
Numerous complaints about disruptive behavior, including talking loudly, vaping, and taking pictures during the performance, forced the theater staff to intervene. Consequently, those people were asked to vacate the premises. The difficulties in striking a balance between one’s own behavior and the expectations placed on elected officials were highlighted by Boebert’s actions and subsequent apology.
