FBI Director Kash Patel traded Washington hearing rooms for the Louisiana bayou this week, meeting with scores of law enforcement officials before making an appearance at Gov. Jeff Landry’s annual alligator hunt in the Atchafalaya Basin.
The trip put Patel alongside the people who handle criminal investigations on the ground — police officers, prosecutors and other officials — even as congressional Democrats continue scrutinizing his leadership and travel.
And Patel appeared eager to emphasize the FBI’s relationship with local law enforcement.
