After playing footage of the South Carolina Republican delivering an animated warning about Democrats at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas, the “Morning Joe” panel joined hands as Sharpton offered what appeared to be a tongue-in-cheek prayer for the senator.
Scarborough even capped the segment with a reference to “baby Jesus.”
The exchange came after Scott delivered one of the convention’s most combative speeches, using his time onstage to urge Republicans to unite ahead of November’s midterm elections. ABC News also reported Scott’s remarks from the Dallas convention.
