Kai Trump Shares Heartbreaking Update

The video began with an unusually vulnerable moment.

Sitting behind the wheel of her car, Kai became emotional while thinking about the goodbyes that awaited her.

“I’m not a very emotional person at all, so this is like really weird for me to cry,” Kai said, noting that she has “only cried a few times” in her life.

For Kai, the significance of moving away appeared to become real as her departure drew closer.

“I think knowing that I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight really, really sucks,” President Donald Trump’s granddaughter continued. “I’m struggling right now, just thinking about it.”

The moment offered viewers a more personal side of someone who has increasingly developed a public profile of her own.

Kai has attracted a substantial following through golf, social media and appearances alongside members of the Trump family. But this time, the cameras captured something familiar to countless families across the country: a teenager preparing to leave home for college.

Despite struggling with the farewell, Kai emphasized that she understands growing up means embracing change.

“I’m moving on. … It happens to everyone. It’s time to move on.”

There was one part of the experience, however, that Kai decided should remain private.

She did not record the actual farewells with friends and relatives, explaining that she wanted to experience those moments without worrying about documenting them for an audience.

“It was just, like, sad. I just wanted to say goodbye. It was, like, hard to film because I wanted to be, like, present with my family, so I just didn’t film it.”

Her mother, Vanessa Trump, was right alongside her as the family tackled the practical side of the transition.

Vanessa helped Kai prepare her new Miami apartment, including the seemingly endless shopping trips and back-and-forth involved in getting a college student settled into a new home.

“I’m totally exhausted from going to her apartment, coming back and forth and moving everything,” Vanessa said in the social media upload.

Kai expressed her appreciation for having her mother there for the milestone.

“We spent HOURS shopping for everything I could possibly need for my apartment and getting ready for this new chapter of college life!” Kai told her followers. “So thankful my mom was there to do it all with me.”

She followed that message with another tribute to Vanessa.

“She truly is the BEST mom, and I’m so grateful for her.”

The emotional transition wasn’t limited to Kai.

According to the incoming college freshman, she could tell her mother was beginning to feel the weight of watching her oldest child move out.

Kai said Vanessa was “definitely getting emotional because she got quiet.”

Vanessa nevertheless found a way to inject some humor into a bittersweet family milestone.

“I think this is amazing. One child out and four more to go.”

Kai is the eldest of the five children Vanessa shares with Donald Trump Jr. Her younger siblings are Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

The move to Miami is about far more than simply leaving home.

Kai has spent years developing her golf game and committed to play for the University of Miami well before finishing high school. College will now give her an opportunity to continue pursuing the sport while adjusting to the independence and responsibilities that come with living away from her family.

Her ambitions on the course have also helped distinguish her public identity beyond simply being a member of one of America’s most recognizable political families.

The transition comes as Kai continues to build a growing audience of her own, giving followers a look at her golf career, family life and experiences as the president’s granddaughter.

This latest video, however, was less about politics or the Trump name and more about an experience millions of parents and young adults know firsthand.

Leaving home can bring excitement, uncertainty and sadness all at once.

For Kai Trump, those emotions were on full display as she closed one chapter of her life and prepared to begin another.

And while saying goodbye clearly wasn’t easy, the young golfer appears ready to trade the familiarity of home for college classrooms, competitive golf and a new life in Miami.
