For years, the Food and Drug Administration has been accused of turning a blind eye to women’s safety. Now, Senator Josh Hawley says the agency’s latest move proves exactly that — and worse, he’s calling it a “shocking” betrayal of public trust.
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley is raising the alarm after discovering that the FDA quietly approved a brand-new chemical abortion drug from a company called Evita Solutions — despite promising Congress a “top-to-bottom safety review” of abortion medications.
“This is shocking. FDA has just approved ANOTHER chemical abortion drug, when the evidence shows chemical abortion drugs are dangerous and even deadly for the mother. And of course 100% lethal to the child,” Hawley wrote on X Thursday afternoon.
The timing, Hawley says, couldn’t be more suspicious. Just months ago, the FDA pledged to review the safety risks of these drugs, citing mounting evidence of complications. Instead of fulfilling that promise, they fast-tracked approval of yet another abortion pill — this time, behind closed doors.
