Johnson Just Backed Trump’s BIG Plan!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The Speaker made clear he was fully on board, adding:
“The president loves the idea of it. I do as well. We got to pick the right location. But look, I’m all for it and and I think uh it’s going to be great. Well, let us know the date so we can mark it on our calendars.”

Trump’s Call to Energize the Base

Earlier this week, Trump previewed the concept on Truth Social, framing it as both unprecedented and essential.

“We have raised far more money than the Democrats, and are having a great time fixing all of the Country Destroying mistakes made by the Biden Administration, and watching the USA heal and prosper,” Trump wrote.

“The results are incredible, a record pace!!! In that light, I am thinking of recommending a National Convention to the Republican Party, just prior to the Midterms. It has never been done before. STAY TUNED!!!”

Johnson quickly echoed the enthusiasm, firing off a response on X: “YES, Mr. President! Let’s go!!!!” with several American flag emojis.

A Party Riding High After 2024

Republicans enter this conversation with a sense of confidence not seen in years. Johnson told Fox that the GOP had won “every aspect” of the 2024 presidential election and predicted strong results in the coming midterms.

WATCH:

That optimism is not just talk. Data shows the Republican Party’s base is expanding rapidly while Democrats are losing ground in voter registrations across the country.

Democrats’ Numbers Crater Nationwide

According to analysis from The New York Times, the Democratic Party has suffered a dramatic drop in voter registrations, while Republicans have surged. Using state data compiled by L2, a nonpartisan election data firm, the Times found that Democrats lost about 2.1 million registered voters since 2020, while Republicans gained 2.4 million. That’s a net swing of 4.5 million voters.

The report was blunt: “Of the 30 states that track voter registration by political party, Democrats lost ground to Republicans in every single one between the 2020 and 2024 elections — and often by a lot.”

Even deep-blue California saw Democratic registration slip significantly. Meanwhile, many red states like Texas don’t even track partisan affiliation, suggesting the GOP advantage may actually be understated.

No End in Sight for Democrats’ Decline

Michael Pruser, director of data science for Decision Desk HQ, told the Times that the shift appears permanent.

“I don’t want to say, ‘The death cycle of the Democratic Party,’ but there seems to be no end to this,” Pruser warned. “There is no silver lining or cavalry coming across the hill. This is month after month, year after year.”

The gains are especially important in battlegrounds like Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and North Carolina, where Republican registration has outpaced Democrats since 2020.

Trump’s Coalition Expands

Much of this growth has been fueled by Trump himself. His appeal among working-class voters, Latinos, and younger men has shattered old assumptions about partisan loyalty. That fresh coalition is now powering Republican victories at both the national and state level — and could deliver a decisive edge in 2026.

A Political Earthquake in the Making

If Trump and Johnson succeed in pulling off a national GOP convention before the midterms, it would not only be historic — it could also cement the momentum already building on the ground. The Democrats are facing registration losses, collapsing enthusiasm, and a fractured base. Meanwhile, Trump’s GOP is expanding, energized, and ready to march.

With both Trump and Johnson aligned, one thing is clear: the Republican Party is preparing for a show of strength that could reshape the midterm battlefield before it even begins.
