A group of furious House Democrats made a dramatic scene late Tuesday night, marching through the Capitol to confront Speaker Mike Johnson and demand that he immediately swear in Arizona Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva.
There was just one glaring problem — Johnson wasn’t even in his office.
The stunt was led by members of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, joined by several other Democratic lawmakers and Grijalva herself. They paraded through the Capitol halls chanting, “Swear her in!” and “What is he afraid of?… Epstein!” as they crowded outside the Speaker’s door.

The late-night demonstration quickly drew attention across Washington, especially since it unfolded while Johnson was miles away attending an event at the White House Rose Garden.
As the group gathered outside the locked office, Grijalva recorded a message to her supporters and posted it to X.
