Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s transition to primetime has hit a rough patch, as her new show, “The Briefing,” struggles to capture the same audience that longtime MSNBC host Rachel Maddow once commanded. Despite being handed the coveted 9 p.m. slot, Psaki’s show has seen a significant drop in viewership, particularly among the critical 25-54 demographic prized by advertisers.
Early Numbers Show Major Decline
According to Fox News, Psaki’s second episode, which aired on Wednesday, managed just 65,000 viewers in the 25-54 age group, a dramatic fall from the 139,000 that tuned in the night before. Overall, total viewership dropped from between 1 and 1.2 million viewers, a steep decline for a show in such a prominent time slot.
