Jeffries BLINDSIDED by His Own Party!

A growing divide is emerging among House Democrats as several lawmakers break ranks with party leadership over how Congress should respond to the escalating confrontation with Iran. In a surprising development, six Democrats are rejecting the strategy backed by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and instead proposing a different approach that would give President Donald Trump a limited window to justify ongoing military operations.

Rather than immediately restricting the administration’s authority, the group is introducing legislation that would allow the president up to 30 days to present a case for continued military action against Iran before Congress steps in. The move represents a notable break from Democratic leadership, which has pushed a far stricter war powers measure aimed at quickly curbing the president’s ability to use force.

Leading the alternative proposal is Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, who is advancing a war powers resolution designed to balance congressional oversight with the need to protect American troops and allies in the region. Under his plan, the Trump administration would have “30 days to make the case to Congress [and the] American people for military action in Iran or end the operation.”

The proposal arrives as the president has indicated that the military campaign against Iranian targets is progressing rapidly. Trump has stated publicly that the mission is “ahead of schedule” and estimated that it could last approximately four to five weeks.
