The measure, aimed at eliminating $9 billion in excessive spending, barely survived the sabotage attempt in a razor-thin 51–50 vote late Tuesday night. The pressure couldn’t have been higher—and once again, it was Vance who had to save the America First agenda from being torpedoed by D.C. insiders.
Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) crossed the aisle to join Democrats in an effort to stop the cuts—proving that for some in the GOP, preserving the Swamp comes before serving the American people.
