While Crockett loves taking cheap shots at Trump, it’s clear she wasn’t prepared for what was coming.
During an appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Trump didn’t hold back when asked about the new faces emerging in the Democrat Party. He singled out Crockett as a prime example of the Democrats’ collapse into chaos.
“I mean, look at the Democrats,” Trump told Kristen Welker. “They’re in total disarray. They have a new person named Crockett. I watched her speak the other day, she’s definitely a low-IQ person, and they said she’s the future of the party. I said you have to be kidding.”
That wasn’t just Trump’s opinion — polls back it up. A March CNN survey showed that Crockett actually finished ahead of Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom, and Chuck Schumer when Democrat voters were asked who leads their party.
Let that sink in: A foul-mouthed backbencher beat out the heavyweights.
The Democratic Party has been adrift since the 2024 election disaster. Trump pointed out exactly what millions of Americans already see — the left has no clear leader, no vision, and no future.
“I really believe in a two-party system, because it’s good to be challenged, it’s really good to have a two-party[…]Being challenged is okay, it keeps you sharp,” Trump explained. “I don’t know what they’re gonna do. They have nobody. Bernie’s 87 years old or something and you know, Biden is the worst thing that ever happened to old people.”
The few sources of energy left in the Democrat Party aren’t moderates — they’re radical leftists like Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jasmine Crockett. These figures have been stirring up their base through town halls and rallies, but they are pulling the party even further away from everyday Americans.
Trump didn’t spare Sanders either, calling him out as well. “He’s a nutjob,” Trump said about Sanders. “But he’s still sharp. He’s sharp… he’s the same guy as he was. He hasn’t gone down, but Biden, is really, he’s the worst thing to happen to old people.”
Unable to resist the spotlight, Crockett fired back at Trump on social media with a rant that only reinforced Trump’s point.
“For you to be in charge of the WHOLE country, you sure do have my name in your mouth a lot. Every time you say my name, you’re reminding the world that you’re terrified of smart, bold black women telling the truth and holding you accountable. So keep talking…” Crockett posted on X.
Her response perfectly captured the Democrat Party’s new identity: loud, petty, obsessed with race-baiting, and completely unserious.
Crockett’s childish behavior may make her a hit among progressive Twitter users, but it’s a disaster for Democrats trying to appeal to real Americans. If she truly represents the “future” of the Democrat Party, Republicans have every reason to be optimistic heading into 2026 and beyond.
Even Republicans and Democrats can agree on one thing: Jasmine Crockett is exactly the kind of face today’s radical Democrat Party deserves.
