“In those moments, I think, ‘I cannot wait until my contract is over.’ But then, I take the summer off or I go on strike, and you start going, ‘Yeah, I miss the fun stuff,’” he continued.

The left-wing comic said he had no idea what he would do if he did decide to leave once his contract expires. “It might not be anything that anyone other than me is aware of,” He said to the source that he has a number of interests to devote his time to.

“I know that when I die, if I’m fortunate enough to die on my own terms in my own bed, I’m going to think, ‘Oh, I was never able to get to this, and I was never able to get to that.’ I just know it about myself,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel, 56, had previously talked about retiring before the Writers Guild Strike in 2023. “As you know, I was very intent on retiring right around the time where the strike started,” Back in August, Kimmel warned other hosts of late-night talk shows on the Strike Force Five podcast. In the end, the former Man Show host rejected the proposal, citing the strike as the reason he valued his work more at the moment.

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

In 2022, Kimmel’s three-year deal with ABC was extended.
