Iran’s Military Rocked After U.S. Strike

The Middle East woke up to shockwaves Saturday morning after coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes reportedly wiped out top figures inside Iran’s military leadership. Multiple outlets confirm that senior commanders tied to Tehran’s defense and Revolutionary Guard structure were killed in what American officials are describing as only the opening phase of a broader military campaign.

According to reports, Iran’s Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander General Mohammad Pakpour were among those eliminated. Pakpour had only recently taken control of the IRGC after his predecessor, Hossein Salami, was killed in an Israeli operation during last year’s Twelve-Day War. Now, in a stunning turn, his successor has reportedly met the same fate.

Three separate sources with direct knowledge of Israeli military planning confirmed the deaths, citing both intelligence and regional contacts. The message from Jerusalem and Washington is unmistakable. This was not symbolic. It was strategic.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged that high level losses occurred but attempted to downplay the scope. In remarks to NBC News, he said, “We may have lost one or two commanders.” That brief admission, however, stands in stark contrast to the mounting evidence that Tehran’s command structure suffered a significant blow.
