The attack took place during Catholic Mass just steps away from the parish’s K-8 school, leaving families devastated and a community in mourning.
Through court filings, it was revealed that Westman petitioned to change his name from Robert to Robin at the age of 17. His mother supported the transition, but today she is refusing to help authorities investigate what drove her son to commit such a heinous act.
