The fast food industry is about to look very different. While most chains are still tinkering with apps and struggling with late-night drivers, Chipotle just made a move that could change the game forever.

Residents of Dallas are witnessing something that feels more like science fiction than a lunch order. This week, Chipotle rolled out a brand-new delivery system called “Zipotle” — a fleet of autonomous drones dropping burritos, tacos, and bowls right to your doorstep.
The Mexican grill giant teamed up with Zipline, the world’s largest autonomous delivery company, to make it happen. Customers simply download the Zipline app, place an order, and then watch as a quiet aircraft hovers hundreds of feet above before lowering their food straight to their home or even a park bench.
