The situation has garnered attention following a report by the New York Post, which highlighted several cases involving this disturbing phenomenon. According to dashcam footage acquired by the publication, one incident on Flatbush Avenue South showed a migrant intentionally diving in front of an oncoming vehicle, forcing the driver to swerve dangerously to avoid a fatal collision.

Christina, a 37-year-old motorist who narrowly escaped being part of this scam, described her harrowing experience. “All of a sudden, a man with eyes wide open and screaming jumped in front of my car. He was trying to get me to run him over,” she explained. The driver added, “If I had been distracted even for a second, my life could have been over. It’s just sickening.”
