Rust Scandal: Armorer Calls for Baldwin’s Arrest!

In a shocking twist to the ongoing “Rust” movie set tragedy, embattled armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, now serving an 18-month prison sentence for involuntary manslaughter, has pointed the finger at actor Alec Baldwin, suggesting he too deserves jail time. Baldwin, set to stand trial next month, has been embroiled in controversy since the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Documents recently filed by special prosecutor Kari T. Morrissey reveal that during phone calls from jail, Gutierrez-Reed expressed her belief that Baldwin should be imprisoned. These calls have become a focal point in the prosecution’s arguments against offering Gutierrez-Reed a conditional discharge, which would allow her probation instead of serving time. The prosecution’s stance is clear: Gutierrez-Reed has not fully accepted responsibility for her role in the tragedy.

Gutierrez-Reed’s comments during these calls were far from reserved. She unleashed her frustration on the special prosecutor, labeling Morrissey with derogatory terms, and did not spare the jury either, reflecting her clear disdain for the legal proceedings. Her attorney, Jason Bowles, has criticized the prosecution’s handling of these snippets, arguing they were selectively used to paint his client in a negative light. Bowles told People Magazine, “It’s really unfair to characterize or cherry pick comments someone may or may not have made while they were upset and very recently incarcerated.”
