The controversy surrounding Joe Biden’s infamous 2015 trip to Ukraine has exploded back into the spotlight after a newly declassified CIA report added troubling new details.
Back in 2018, Biden openly bragged during a Council on Foreign Relations panel about threatening to withhold a $1 billion U.S. loan guarantee if Ukraine’s top prosecutor wasn’t fired. Even more alarming — Biden made it sound as if President Obama himself signed off on the pressure campaign.
Now, this newly released intelligence report adds weight to what many already suspected — Biden’s visit was far from routine diplomacy. It was tied directly to Burisma, the scandal-plagued energy company that had Hunter Biden on its board and was under intense investigation at the time.
According to the CIA information report, Biden’s December 2015 Ukraine visit overlapped with a coordinated lobbying effort involving Hunter Biden, Burisma executives, and Clinton-connected lobbying firm Blue Star Strategies.
