Democrats are in meltdown mode over DOGE’s cost-cutting measures, and Waters wasted no time shifting the blame to her favorite target: Elon Musk.

After unloading on Musk, Waters attempted to push her way into the HUD building, only to be stopped by security. But she wasn’t done yet. She eventually made it inside, determined to hand-deliver her letter to Secretary Turner.
HUD, however, wasn’t about to let Waters grandstand unchallenged. The department fired back with a scorching response that left Waters reeling.

“The Department appreciates the Congresswoman’s interest in DOGE. While she has questions for the Department about how it is efficiently and effectively using taxpayer dollars, the Department also has questions for her, including:
- Is it true that members of her family profited from her position as an elected official? This was reported by the LA Times.
- Does she agree with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics that she is one of the ‘most corrupt’ Members of Congress? Does she think she deserved to win the award four times?
- Would she be open to leading by example and allowing DOGE to ensure that she is using taxpayer dollars responsibly to serve Californians? If not, what does she have to hide?
- Did she enjoy the 47-minute video of President Trump’s accomplishments playing in the lobby?”
Brutal. Absolutely brutal.
This is exactly what Americans voted for—an administration that refuses to cave to political theater. While Democrats like Waters scream about lost government jobs, DOGE is busy cleaning up the swamp and making sure taxpayers aren’t footing the bill for bloated contracts and bureaucratic waste.

Waters’ attempt to pressure HUD into reversing its decision flopped spectacularly. Instead of getting the attention she craved, she got a public smackdown that exposed her hypocrisy for the world to see.
HUD isn’t backing down, and neither is DOGE. Meanwhile, Waters and her fellow Democrats will have to come up with a new excuse for why they think taxpayers should keep funding unnecessary spending.
