House Delivers BIG Victory for Disabled Workers!

The House of Representatives has taken a major step toward changing how the federal government helps Americans with disabilities who want to return to work.

Lawmakers approved legislation aimed at giving the Social Security Administration another opportunity to test new approaches that could make it easier for disability beneficiaries to enter the workforce without being trapped by complicated rules or sudden financial losses.

The measure, H.R. 8884, known as the Removing Barriers to Work for Disabled Americans Act, passed the House by a vote of 232-188. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Austin Scott, R-Ga., and now heads to the Senate, where it has been referred to the Finance Committee.
