A routine commercial flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv descended into a terrifying emergency after a violent confrontation erupted inside the cockpit, with one pilot accused of stabbing his colleague and attempting to bring down the aircraft.
The shocking incident aboard Flydubai Flight 1073 sent passengers scrambling for the front of the plane as the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and issued emergency signals. According to Israeli officials, the situation could have ended in catastrophe had passengers and crew members not intervened.
The flight, which was carrying approximately 160 to 180 passengers, was diverted to Saudi Arabia after the confrontation unfolded. Most of those aboard were reportedly Israeli citizens.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later revealed disturbing details about the episode, including allegations that one of the pilots attempted to crash the aircraft while its passengers were still on board.
