Guess Who Just Sided with Trump?

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Trump’s response, “I don’t know,” set off a firestorm in liberal media circles. The former president clarified that he relies on advice from Justice Department lawyers, but the media pounced on the opportunity to frame him as indifferent to constitutional rights.

The Maryland Man Hoax and a RINO’s Defense

One of the most prominent examples of this narrative is the case of Kilmer Abrego Garcia. Left-leaning outlets claimed Garcia, a so-called “Maryland man,” was deported without due process, branding Trump’s immigration policies as overly aggressive and unjust.

However, the facts tell a different story. Garcia, who was deported to El Salvador, had his case heard by two separate immigration judges who ruled he was a known member of the violent MS-13 gang. Both judges issued removal orders, clearly satisfying the legal requirements for deportation.

RINO Senator Pushes Back on Media Misinformation

In a surprising turn, even some of Trump’s critics within the GOP have come to his defense over the due process controversy. RINO Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, who has often broken ranks with Trump on immigration, recently found himself pushing back against the media’s misleading narrative.

During an interview with CNN’s Kasie Hunt, Lankford was pressed on whether he trusted Trump to uphold the Constitution when it comes to deportations. Despite his history of supporting immigration reforms that Trump’s base strongly opposes, Lankford offered a cautious defense.

“I am,” Lankford said when asked if he believed Trump would follow the law. “I think his answer was, I’ve got good attorneys advising me on all those things, and they’re going to make sure they get it right.”

Lankford went on to explain the distinction between criminal due process for U.S. citizens and the more limited process afforded to illegal immigrants facing deportation. “What’s been confusing on this is some people see due process like us as American citizens, and that’s a right to a jury trial, that’s all those different things. That’s not true for due process for someone who’s not a citizen of the United States,” Lankford added.

The senator’s remarks highlighted a critical point often missed in media coverage: the due process rights for non-citizens in deportation cases differ significantly from those guaranteed to American citizens. In most cases, this process involves a hearing before an immigration judge, not a full-blown criminal trial.

With Trump gearing up for another potential run at the White House, the battle over immigration and the media’s framing of his policies is likely to intensify. But for now, even some of his political rivals are finding it hard to deny the facts when it comes to his enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.
