Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs just handed Communist China a victory on American soil — and people are furious.
In a stunning move that has conservatives across the country shaking their heads, Hobbs vetoed a bill designed to block Chinese entities from purchasing land near sensitive military and energy installations in Arizona. The bill, S.B. 1109, would have banned foreign adversaries — specifically the Chinese Communist Party — from acquiring land within close proximity to sites like Luke Air Force Base and Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.
For anyone who still believes Democrats are serious about national security, this latest decision from Gov. Hobbs should be a wake-up call. Instead of siding with Arizona’s lawmakers and military officials who see this as a clear security issue, Hobbs claims the bill “was ineffective at counter-espionage” and failed to “directly protect” military assets.
But conservatives aren’t buying that excuse.
