Gov. Melts Down After ICE Raids Elite Islands!

In a stunning and long-overdue enforcement action, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) swept into the wealthy liberal playgrounds of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket this week, arresting approximately 40 illegal immigrants. The islands—known for their celebrity residents and progressive politics—were once again thrust into the spotlight, but this time it wasn’t Governor Ron DeSantis making headlines. It was ICE doing its job.

According to federal officials, the operation wasn’t just a random sweep. Among those arrested were an MS-13 gang member and a child sex offender—clear dangers to the community. Acting Field Office Director Patricia Hyde of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston explained the mission’s goal plainly: “ICE and our federal partners made a strong stand for prioritizing public safety by arresting and removing illegal aliens from our New England neighborhoods… operations like this highlight the strong alliances that ICE shares with our fellow law enforcement partners.”

That’s called law and order. And it’s about time someone took action.

But Massachusetts Democrat Governor Maura Healey was not pleased. Instead of thanking ICE for removing criminals from her state, she lashed out, calling the enforcement efforts “disturbing.” “It was very disturbing, needless to say, to wake up to that news about that activity on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket,” Healey told the Boston Herald.
