Trump Resets the Auto Industry After Biden’s Damage
Standing beside Ford CEO Jim Farley and Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa, President Donald Trump announced a sweeping reversal of Biden’s extreme fuel-economy mandates. Biden’s plan demanded automakers hit a nearly impossible average of 50 miles per gallon by 2031, a requirement only attainable by forcing automakers into mass EV production whether consumers wanted them or not.
Trump ripped the mandate out by the roots, bringing the standard down to 34.5 miles per gallon and restoring what he called basic “common sense.”
