First 2024 Debate: CNN’s Game-Changing Rules!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

A notable rule in the debate is the muting of microphones. Microphones will only be active for the candidate who is speaking, eliminating interruptions and ensuring a focused discussion. Additionally, the stage will be free of props and pre-written notes, though each candidate will be provided with a pen, pad of paper, and water.

This year’s debate will deviate from the norm by excluding a live studio audience. This decision aims to minimize external influences and maintain decorum. CNN assures that moderators will “use all tools at their disposal to enforce timing and ensure a civilized discussion.”

While the inclusion of third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. remains uncertain, it’s a possibility that cannot be completely ruled out. Candidates need to be on a sufficient number of state ballots to garner 270 electoral votes and achieve at least 15% in four national polls. Kennedy has made significant strides by appearing on six state ballots and achieving 15% in three qualifying polls.

Trump, known for his preference to stand during debates, has acquiesced to a new seated format at a table with Biden, following the Biden campaign’s request. This change was confirmed during Trump’s appearance on the “Cats & Cosby Show” on WABC 770 AM.

“I hear now we’re sitting at tables. I don’t want to sit at a table,” Trump expressed, indicating a compromise on his preferred debate posture. “So we’ll be sitting at a table as opposed to doing it the way you should be, in my opinion, in a debate.”

Trump also hinted at pressing Biden on significant issues, such as the controversial withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021. “If [Biden] gets through the debate, they’ll say it was brilliant,” he remarked, suggesting a critical approach to the debate’s discussion topics.

The campaigns have planned two debates, the first hosted by CNN and the second by ABC News on September 10. It remains to be seen if the seated format will persist in the second debate.

The structure and rules set for these debates underscore the high stakes and intense scrutiny both candidates will face. As the debate approaches, the nation’s eyes will be on how these formats influence the dynamics of the presidential race.

  1. Oh definitely it’s rigged, it’s the ONLY WAY the demoCRAPS/COMMUNISTS REGIME can win! SAD state of affairs for AMERICA and AMERICANS!!

  2. Biden will get the questions in advance just as HILLARY CLINTON got them. Joe can’t stand for 90 Minutes so he needs to sit. Hell if he’s sitting he might fall asleep.
