FBI Vets Blast Ruffalo’s Prep Method

Now, actor Mark Ruffalo has made headlines for revealing his “training method” to play an FBI agent in HBO’s upcoming crime drama Task—and it left actual agents shaking their heads in disbelief.

The 57-year-old Marvel star told People magazine that he bulked up for the role by eating sandwiches. Yes, you read that correctly.

“I ate a lot of Philly cheesesteak sandwiches,” Ruffalo admitted. “I just put a bunch of weight on.”

While real FBI agents endure months of grueling instruction at Quantico—mastering firearms, surveillance tactics, and criminal psychology—Ruffalo figured scarfing down cheesesteaks was close enough to understanding federal law enforcement.
